Assistant Public Defender

Jennifer knew she wanted to be a public defender from the start. She earned both her J.D. and her M.S.W. from Washington University in St. Louis. A native Memphian, she returned to Memphis in 2018 after almost a decade away and worked as a solo criminal defense attorney until enthusiastically joining the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender in March 2019. Jennifer has worked in Mental Health Court and Domestic Violence Court and is currently the Division Leader in General Sessions Division 7, where she assists with the Shelby County Veterans Treatment Court. If you can’t tell yet, she is passionate about treatment courts! Jennifer enjoys volunteering with the SCPD law clerk committee and supervising SCPD social work interns. She has two dogs and two cats and loves having game and movie nights with her friends.
