Cat Garrett is a rising second-year student at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. He chose to spend his summer at the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender to gain firsthand experience within the criminal justice system and is particularly grateful for the opportunity to begin this work in his hometown. During his time with the office, Cat hopes to deepen his understanding of the challenges faced by indigent clients and to contribute meaningfully to serving individuals whose voices are too often overlooked. Notably, Cat has a personal tradition of only going to the movies on Tuesdays so he can take advantage of the discount pricing.
